Inductive proximity switches in M30 metal housing

Inductive proximity switches in metal housing suitable for harsh industrial use.

Proxitron inductive proximity switches in a robust metal housing are specially designed for harsh industrial environments. They are available in numerous variants—with plug or integrated connection cable, different operating voltages, and output functions. Models with increased switching distances further expand the range of possible applications.

For demanding environments, we offer high-temperature versions up to 100 °C and 120 °C, as well as versions with M16 female threads for integration into cable protection hose fittings. Variants with different operating frequencies also allow several sensors to be mounted directly next to each other without mutual interference. We can also implement customer-specific adaptations on request.

Interesting facts about inductive proximity switches in metal housings

What distinguishes inductive proximity switches in metal housings?

They are particularly resistant to mechanical stress, vibrations, and harsh environmental conditions. The metal housing reliably protects the electronics and extends the service life of the sensor.

What are these sensors suitable for?

They are ideal for heavy industrial applications, e.g., in metalworking, automation technology, mechanical engineering, the food industry, or conveyor technology.

Why should I choose a model with a metal housing instead of plastic?

Metal enclosures offer higher mechanical stability, better protection against impact, and often better EMC properties—perfect for locations where robust hardware is required.

What types of connections are available?

The sensors are available with either a plug or a permanently attached connection cable.

Does Proxitron offer different cable types for different applications?

Yes — Proxitron offers a wide range of different cable materials. Depending on the application, cables with PVC, PUR, silicone, or PTFE coatings are available — each with specific temperature ranges and special properties such as cold or heat resistance, chemical resistance, or abrasion resistance.

What temperature ranges do the different cable materials cover?

  • PVC: –25 °C up to +80 °C

  • PUR: –25 °C up to +80 °C

  • Silikon: –50 °C up to +180 °C

  • PTFE: –190 °C up to +260 °C

Are there models with different switching distances?

Yes. In addition to standard versions, there are also versions with increased switching distance, which offer greater flexibility during installation.
